When the Jasper motherboards started showing up in Xbox 360 consoles late last year there was reason for excitement – quieter fans, more efficient design and 256MB of internal storage to set gamers free of overpriced memory cards. Now the systems are receiving an unannounced storage boost, with an Xbox Hacker forum member noticing that his Japanese Arcade model sported a 4Gb Samsung NAND chip. That’s twice the size of the old one, giving the equivalent of 512MB internal memory. That system was manufactured in April and are starting to hit US Arcade units as well. We’re not yet sure if there is a way to tell if you have this beefier revision from outside the box.

At their software conference earlier this week, Apple have announced their new take on the iPhone – the iPhone 3GS. The notable improvements over the previous 3G unit are as follows:
Improved speed
Featuring improved processor speed the 3GS is aimed by Apple to be up to 2x faster than its predecessor. As an added bonus, the battery life is also said to be improved, giving you the best of both worlds.
Larger memory
The 3GS comes in either 16GB or 32GB flavours.
New colours
The new iPhone is now available in white as well as the traditional black.
Record Video
For the first time you can now shoot, edit and share VGA quality video. The editing facilities allow you to cut either the beginning or the end off your movies, whilst the share facility allows you to email, publish or sync (with a Mac) your handy-work.
Improved camera
A new 3-megapixel camera with auto focus improves on an iPhone weak point. It’s still not a great specification but is ample for pictures on your mobile. Get a camera if you want better snaps as the quality of the optics are just as (if not more) important than mega-pixels.
Voice Control
Voice Control allows you to call up your contacts and listen to your music with ease.
Compass
A new built-in compass automatically reorients maps on the display to match the direction you’re facing. It will also work in conjunction with the GPS featured in earlier iPhones.
The new iPhone 3GS is available on 19 June in the US and (reportedly) on 22 June in the UK and Europe. Once released you will be able to get a free iPhone 3GS by clicking on the link of our approved partner.

At the E3 conference today Sony has been showing off its new motion controller for the PS3, due for release early next year.
The demo consisted of a Sony engineer waving the controller around with a monitor replicating his movement but, instead of showing the controller, it displayed of objects including a tennis racquet, sword, Japanese fan and a torch.
The demo also exhibited a two controller swordfight as well as two motion controllers being used to handle virtual toy building blocks. Perhaps the most impressive demo was the ability to write free-hand with the new motion controllers.
We look forward to more details in the coming days and weeks.

Sony have stated that it will be half the size of the current PSP 3000 series as well as 40% lighter. On Monday Microsoft look the E3 convention by storm when it unveiled a revolutionary new control system for the Xbox 360 where the player actually becomes the controller replacing the need for a traditional controller.
The system, dubbed Project Natal, uses a 3D motion-sensing camera that follows the users movements and puts them straight into the action. The system will also feature a voice recognition system allowing the player to interact directly with the game.
The revolutionary system takes Nintendo’s motion controllers one step further and is surely to give a major boost to the now well established Xbox 360 system.
Microsoft have not yet issued a release date for the hardware.

Pictures have been leaked of a slim PS3, adding fuel to the rumours that such a product will be announced at the E3 electronics show in June.
I’d say the pictures are fake. The product looks cheap and unprofessional and not up to the quality you’d expect from the likes of Sony. I know they want to cut costs, but surely not this much, especially considering the quality look of the current PS3 (although the design is a little hideous).
I think the big E3 announcement (which is coming) will be about some sort of Wii style motion controller. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Producer Kazunori Yamauchi has revealed in an interview with GTPlanet that Gran Turismo 5 will feature night racing and weather changes, both a first for the GT series. As well as night racing and weather there is a possibility that a collision damage system may also be introduced. Looks like GT5 will be even better than we thought, although there was no news on a final release date.
